Arch Street Capital Advisors is a full-service real estate investment and advisory firm founded in 2003. We specialize in advising investors on their real estate strategies and have advised our capital partners on more than $8.5 billion in transactions. We manage a diverse portfolio of investments spanning multiple real estate sectors and risk-return profiles. As an organization, we possess significant transactional experience and expertise in servicing the needs of a wide variety of capital partners, including the specialized needs of Sharia-compliant capital partners.
We provide our capital partners with a single solution for investing in real estate. The range of services we provide includes acquisition; financing; restructuring; asset management; disposition; accounting; and coordination of legal, tax, audit and ownership entity structuring/maintenance.

We have been successful in establishing long standing relationships with our capital partners through a combination of transparency and alignment of interests. Our primary directive is to help our capital partners customize and execute bespoke real estate investment strategies while maximizing investment returns. We operate at our capital partners’ discretion, while providing expertise and advice to help them achieve their unique investment goals and objectives.
We work diligently with each of our capital partners to ensure a deep understanding of the commercial requirements associated with investing in various local markets. This includes a detailed discussion of the local real estate market and the associated risk/return profiles of various investment strategies.
As an organization we invest significant time in each capital partner’s decision-making process through constant collaboration with their investment teams and decision makers. As part of that effort and to operate more efficiently in the local commercial real estate market, we often suggest, modifications to a capital partner’s internal decision-making process to allow them to compete more effectively for local real estate investment opportunities.
Once our partner has a thorough understanding of the requirements of investing in real estate, along with a decision-making process that will allow them to effectively compete in the local marketplace, we actively pursue transactions on their behalf. This ensures that each of our capital partners is as successful as possible, while maintaining alignment of interests and expectations.
Our firm is comprised of team members with many years of relevant experience across various disciplines of the real estate sector including acquisitions, banking, dispositions, asset management, leasing and legal. On behalf of our capital partners, we have acquired long-term leased single-tenant assets and large, multi-asset portfolios of operationally complex assets. We have invested across the risk spectrum, from core to opportunistic transactions, and throughout the capital structure, including not only traditional equity investments, but also structured mezzanine and preferred equity investments.

Arch’s Community Enhancement Program is a mechanism for our capital partners to support the local communities they invest in. The program targets acute needs specific to each respective community we invest in, such as homelessness, food insecurity, education and tenant health & wellness. The program’s ultimate goal is to focus on the intersection between social and economic benefits, allowing our capital partners to make a positive impact on the communities adjacent to their real estate investment.
Meet the Team
Craig Friedman is the founder and Chairman of Arch Street Capital Advisors, which he established in 2003. As the founder of Arch, Mr. Friedman placed early emphasis on delivering the highest level of service when executing real estate investments in the U.S. on behalf of the firm’s capital partners. That emphasis on service continues to be the foundation of the company as the firm has expanded over the years. In addition to his involvement in the origination and execution of real estate investments, Mr. Friedman has provided strategic guidance at the corporate level to Arch’s institutional capital partners.
Mr. Friedman has over 25 years of real estate investment advisory and capital markets experience. Prior to founding Arch, he was a senior originator with Deutsche Bank’s real estate investment banking group, having started and being responsible for the firm’s global real estate joint venture advisory business. Mr. Friedman has been a frequent speaker at conferences and events focusing on real estate investments and finance, including the World Islamic Banking Conference, among others. He has also been a repeat guest lecturer for New York University’s Master’s Degree program in Real Estate. Mr. Friedman began his professional career as a real estate and corporate/securities attorney at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett in New York.
Mr. Friedman holds a B.S. degree from Binghamton University and a J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law.
President & Chief Investment Officer
Anup Patel is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2005. In his capacity as President, he is responsible for the operational oversight of the firm. As CIO, he is also responsible for overseeing all the firm’s investment activities and spearheading strategic initiatives including capital partner relationships and investment product development.
Joining Arch shortly after the firm’s founding, Mr. Patel has played an instrumental role in the firm’s investment and operational activities since inception. Prior to Arch, he worked at GE Capital in the North America real estate debt group, and prior to that worked as part of GE Capital’s private equity group. He has been a frequent speaker on topics relating to real estate investment and finance, including the intersection of Islamic Finance and commercial real estate investments and the implementation of acceptable investment structures. Mr. Patel has been featured as a guest speaker at New York University’s Shack Institute of Real Estate and Columbia University’s Real Estate Development program.
Mr. Patel holds a B.S. degree from Cornell University’s School of Hospitality Management.
Damian Taylor is a Managing Director at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2017. Mr. Taylor focuses on capital partner relationships, as well as originating, underwriting and executing investments from an acquisitions and asset management perspective.
Mr. Taylor has an extensive background in real estate, most recently as a Director with CBRE Capital Advisors, the real estate investment banking unit of CBRE, where he focused on cross-border investment advisory, institutional capital raising and general mergers and acquisitions. While at CBRE, he spearheaded the formation of the Investment Advisory Group, which advised foreign capital on direct real estate investments and joint ventures in the United States. Prior to CBRE, Mr. Taylor was an Associate Director in the Real Estate Lodging and Leisure Group of UBS Investment Bank, splitting his time between traditional investment banking activities and institutional capital raising. Over his career, he has executed numerous real estate finance and capital markets transactions spanning all major property types and geographies in both the public and private markets. Prior to his work in corporate finance and investment banking, Mr. Taylor worked in real estate development and asset management with Hines and JBG Smith in Washington, D.C., focusing on office and mixed-use development projects.
Mr. Taylor holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Senior Vice President
Petra Conte is a Senior Vice President at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2007. Ms. Conte is involved in the ongoing asset management of investments made on behalf of Arch’s capital partners to ensure successful execution of the strategic plan established at acquisition.
Prior to joining Arch, Ms. Conte spent nine years as a Real Estate Manager/Underwriter with the RVI Group, focusing on Credit Tenant Lease transactions. RVI is a leading provider of insurance products to companies that are invested in asset intensive businesses including real estate. During her tenure at RVI, Ms. Conte actively managed a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets on behalf of various types of capital partners, including developers, REITs, municipalities, equity investors and lenders, with the objective of maximizing her capital partners’ cash yields. She was also an integral part of the company’s underwriting and risk management team, which was responsible for diversifying the company’s product offerings to insure new asset classes and expand into new international markets.
Ms. Conte holds a B.S. degree in International Business and Finance from Fairfield University.
Senior Vice President
Gautam Mashettiwar is a Senior Vice President at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2013. Mr. Mashettiwar focuses on originating, underwriting and executing investments from an acquisitions and asset management perspective.
Prior to Arch, Mr. Mashettiwar was an associate at a $1.6-billion international-focused real estate private equity firm, where he was involved in the underwriting, analysis and coordination of over $400 million of various development projects throughout the country. Prior to that, Mr. Mashettiwar was with Jones Lang Lasalle, where he was responsible for assisting corporations such as Deutsche Bank, Hewitt Associates, McDonald’s Corp. and others with managing their requirement for corporate office space and services globally.
Mr. Mashettiwar graduated from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a dual degree: a B.S.E. in Economics from the Wharton School, and a B.A.S. in Computer Science from the School of Engineering.
Senior Vice President
Alicia Carlucci is a Senior Vice President for Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2007. Mrs. Carlucci is responsible for accounting and taxation compliance for investments made on behalf of Arch’s capital partners, which includes ongoing maintenance of ownership entities and adherence to controls involving funding and disbursements.
Prior to Arch, Mrs. Carlucci held positions at several reputable financial institutions. Her work experience includes acting as a Staff Accountant at Falcon Financial Investment Trust and subsequently at iStar Financial, following its acquisition of Falcon in 2005. She also held the position of Accounts Payable Manager for all of Starwood Capital’s domestic and international assets. Prior to Starwood, Mrs. Carlucci was a Senior Staff Accountant at Nations Bank.
Hemal Patel is a Vice President at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2017. Mr. Patel focuses on originating, underwriting and executing investments from an acquisitions and asset management perspective.
Prior to Arch, Mr. Patel was an Associate with Rialto Capital Advisors, a real estate investment and asset management company focused on equity, debt and special servicing. While at Rialto Capital Advisors, Mr. Patel was part of the investment management team whose responsibilities were to source, underwrite and execute transactions. Mr. Patel has evaluated several billion dollars’ worth of commercial real estate investment opportunities across various investment vehicles including mezzanine financing, preferred equity, CMBS B-Piece acquisitions, non-performing loan portfolio acquisitions and equity investments.
Mr. Patel holds a B.S. degree in Finance from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University.
Zach Wilson is a Vice President at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2018. Mr. Wilson is involved in the ongoing asset management of investments made on behalf of Arch’s capital partners to ensure successful execution of the strategic plan established at acquisition.
Prior to joining Arch, Mr. Wilson worked at Federal Realty Investment Trust, a multi-billion-dollar publicly traded REIT that specializes in the ownership, management and redevelopment of high-quality retail and mixed-use properties. Mr. Wilson played an integral role in the redevelopment and financial analysis of 700,000 square feet of retail and office space in Miami, FL, and worked directly with property managers, asset managers and joint venture partners to address development and operational risks and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Prior to that, Mr. Wilson spent five years in public accounting as an auditor with a focus on investment real estate and construction.
Mr. Wilson is a Maryland-licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland, College Park.
Chris Collins is a Vice President at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2019. Mr. Collins is involved in the ongoing asset management of investments made on behalf of Arch’s capital partners to ensure successful execution of the strategic plan established at acquisition.
Prior to joining Arch, Mr. Collins was an Associate at Starwood Capital Group, where he supported the management of a $4.2-billion private equity real estate fund that invested across a diverse range of product types. While at Starwood, Mr. Collins worked closely with senior management to optimize portfolio returns and evaluate risk related to debt, foreign exchange and portfolio composition. Prior to that, Mr. Collins worked in the insurance industry as both a consultant and an actuary, spending much of his time on statistical analysis, predictive analytics and portfolio valuation.
Mr. Collins holds a B.S. degree in Finance from the College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University.
Bradley Kissell is an Associate at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2018. Mr. Kissell focuses on originating, underwriting and executing investments from an acquisitions and asset management perspective.
Prior to Arch, Mr. Kissell was an Analyst at Arbor Realty Trust, a national commercial real estate lender. While at Arbor, Mr. Kissell worked on the agency lending platform analyzing potential Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and bridge loans. During his tenure, Mr. Kissell reviewed over $2 billion worth of financing opportunities, performing due diligence and asset feasibility analysis.
Mr. Kissell holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Lafayette College.
Ryan Buoye is an Associate at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2021. Mr. Buoye is involved in the ongoing asset management of investments made on behalf of Arch’s capital partners to ensure successful execution of the strategic plan established at acquisition.
Prior to joining Arch, Mr. Buoye worked at Rockrose Development, where his responsibilities included supporting the asset management of a 4,800-unit residential portfolio and two-million square foot office portfolio, in addition to assisting in the underwriting of potential acquisitions. In his two years at Rockrose, Mr. Buoye played an integral role in the closing of almost $800 million in debt financing. Prior to that, Mr. Buoye spent five years as an appraiser in the Valuation and Advisory group at Cushman and Wakefield.
Mr. Buoye holds a B.S. Degree in Finance from the College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University.
Michele Luxenberg is the Executive Assistant at Arch Street Capital Advisors, and has been with the firm since 2019. Ms. Luxenberg provides administrative support to the team and manages the daily operations of the office.
Prior to Arch, Ms. Luxenberg held positions at Lendlease, a global project management and construction, real estate investment and development firm, and Goode Partners, a private equity firm specializing in buyouts, growth capital and small and mid-cap investments.
Ms. Luxenberg attended CUNY-Hunter College.
